Your role and responsibilities
Energy Solutions Group is in the process of developing and constructing a pipeline of battery energy storage system (BESS), wind and solar projects in Belgium and the Netherlands. To grow our internal project team we are looking for an Electrical Engineer with meaningful experience in the design and execution of such projects. The successful applicant will work in the Projects and Technology Team alongside other external and internal project managers and engineers. The exact tasks will depend on the successful applicants qualification, experience, skills and motivation alongside the internally and externally available resources.
In this role, you will contribute to the conceptual design of new projects and project augmentations, while also reviewing the detailed engineering work delivered by external parties. You will assess BESS offers from both a technical and commercial perspective, including lifetime cost and performance analyses. In collaboration with our legal team, you will support the contracting of external Engineering, Procurement and Construction, suppliers and service providers. In addition, you will supervise the execution of BESS projects and work closely with our asset management teams to identify opportunities for technical improvements. You will monitor market developments in storage technologies and plant control to evaluate relevant opportunities for Energy Solutions Group.
Your skills and qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field with hands-on experience
- 3+ years of experience in a related field, please clearly outline your relevant experience in your job application
- Quick learner and good analytical thinking skills
- Strong communication skills: English is mandatory, strong Dutch skills is a plus and French skills are an advantage.
- Strong IT skills
- Strong motivation and responsibility for results, self-starter and structured working approach
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
- Willingness to work with a local and remote team and to travel to project sites in Belgium and the Netherlands for the execution of projects
