About us

Energy Solutions Group is the largest independent green energy producer in the Benelux. To ensure the
world has access to sustainable energy at all times, Energy Solutions Group has been developing and
operating large-scale solar and wind farms in-house since 2009. These are integrated with energy storage
solutions, such as batteries, and charging infrastructure.

Currently, Energy Solutions Group manages more than 350 sustainable energy projects, with a contracted
portfolio of 960 megawatts, of which 600 megawatts are operational. With ongoing expansion in both
existing and new markets, Energy Solutions Group will continue to play a leading role in the transition to
sustainable energy in the coming years. In order to maximize its impact, the company aims to save 1 million
tons of CO₂ by 2027.

Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for a quantitative analyst to join ESG's trading & optimisation team. In this role, you will
support the development and commercial operations of both our BESS and PV/wind assets with advanced
data and optimisation analysis. Your insights are applied in both investment and operational decisions and
thus have a direct impact on the development of the business.

You develop both trading and market models, whose performance you evaluate by e.g. back testing. These
models are then applied in operational decisions and/or in scenario analyses for the future. For this, you
work together with various colleagues within Energy Solutions Group as well as external parties.

In addition, you will help guard the quality of our data platform, which allows you to efficiently combine
and use data sources in various analyses, as well as the internal organisation of models and dashboards.

Your skills and qualifications

  • Master's degree in engineering, economics, mathematics, statistics, computer science or
    equivalent
  • 2-5 years of experience in quantitative analysis, trading algorithms, energy markets and/or financial

  • Extensive experience with programming in Python or equivalent in data analysis, optimisation
models, machine learning techniques and statistical modelling.
  • You are entrepreneurial and a problem-solver and goal-oriented thinker
  • You are willing to learn continuously and adapt to a sector/company in change
  • You can work autonomously as well as in a team
  • You can summarise complex analyses and large amounts of data into clear conclusions and action points
